Don was a great friend. We spent a lot of time together in High School and College and were also roommates in Myrtle Beach with some other good friends. What a tremendously nice person. He would pretty much do anything for you. Although we didn't spend much time together after our 20s, I will always cherish our memories together and forever will remember his smiling face. Rest in Peace Brother

Don was my late husband’s good friend. They met in rehab and became very close. I actually took the picture of Don that is shown in his obituary. I did not know until December 2 of his passing. May he rest in peace, but meanwhile I am sure Ed welcomed him on the other side.

This is the day you never dream of, learning that your childhood neighbor and best friend has passed. My dearest childhood friend was Don. There was never a day in those early years when we failed to find some familiar or new and exciting adventure. We knew every inch of our extended neighborhood. We played in the woods and had our secret fort. We learned to ride bikes and mini bikes and motorcycles. We honed each others basketball and football skills. We almost every day had brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts and Nestle’s chocolate milk. Two years separated us, so when school started we both developed other friends but we never lost that special connection. We shared about which girl or girls captured our fancies.
In college days we had fierce racquetball competitions and more recently we went to Steelers games together. While his body was ravaged by life and the living of it, his spirit was ever the more alive and evolving and we had deep discussions about God, and good and treating others in the most loving way. We always encouraged each other and caught up with each other when we could. I pray he is resting comfortably in heaven with his questions of life bring explained by the Ancient of Days wearing that wonderful handsome smile that he wore so richly. Thank you for helping me learn about friendship, life, love and God my friend. You will be sorely missed

I was Don's fifth grade teacher at Westover Elem. School in 1972, & I'll never forget what a joy he was to have in class! He was always happy & upbeat & nothing ever seemed to bother him! My two years teaching in Westover were the greatest years of my teaching career. I am now retired & live in Kingwood, but I will NEVER forget Don & the wonderful memories I have of him. I am SO sorry to read of his passing. His kindness will forever be a part of my heart! May he rest in peace! God Bless You!
