Larry G. Speicher, Sr. 84, of Westover, passed away October 11, 2023 at Mon General Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Larry was born on August 4, 1939, in Spencer, a son of the late Ward and Lurline Greathouse Speicher. Larry worked at West Virginia Welding Supply making deliveries of oxygen and acetylene tanks. Larry also was a police officer and was the former police chief for the Westover Police Department for 23 years. Larry also was a firefighter for over 20 years for the Westover Volunteer Fire Department. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Larry was a skilled carpenter. Larry loved fishing and camping in Elkins, WV. Larry loved going to the dirt track watching his son Larry Jr. and his grandson Trent race. Larry also loved to hunt and enjoyed hunting with his sons, his two grandsons and his great grandkids. Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia Speicher; sons, Larry Speicher, Jr. and Charles “Chuckie” Speicher (Dayna Accaputo); brother, Terry Speicher and his wife Nancy; his grandchildren, Trent (Misty) Speicher and Josh (Blair) Speicher; great grandchildren, Tristan, Treylan, Tyson, Charley, Colt and Calan; and a niece and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry is also preceded in death by his brother, John Speicher.
