Joseph Sakacsi Jr, of Granville WV, son of the late Joseph and Helen Adams Sakacsi, passed away on July 21, 2023. Joseph was born December 29, 1943 and was a 1961 graduate of University High School. He enlisted in the military shortly thereafter and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After 37 years of service at Morgantown Machine and Hydraulics he retired in 2008. Joe enjoyed trout fishing with his friends in the mountain streams, especially Dry Fork, the north branch of Potomac, and the cranberry wilderness during his trips to Canada. Some of his grandchildren’s’ fondest memories are when he would take them out to the water and attempt to teach them how to fish. They learned so much from their grandpa Joe and will carry those memories and skills with them forever. Joe leaves behind his wonderful and loving wife of 57 years, Sharon Dunn Sakacsi, their daughter Sherry Sakacsi Cristancho along with husband Edward Cristancho and their children Brady of Seattle, WA., Isabela of Los Angeles, CA., and Ellie and Carter of Zionsville, IN. Son Jeffrey Alan Sakacsi and wife Mari Kay Miller of Cincinnati, OH. His brother -in- law William Dunn and wife Misty of Lincoln, AL. and nephew, John Michael Sakacsi of Charlotte, NC Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel Sakacsi, sister Helen Louise Sakacsi, brother John Sakacsi, and his mother and father in-law, William and Annaieve England Dunn. Joe was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and he will be missed beyond words. He did so much in life and his family will cherish and honor his memory forever.
