Obituary of Betty Irene McKinney

Betty Irene McKinney, 94, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Morgantown Health & Rehab. Betty was born in Fairmont on August 31, 1928, a daughter of the late John Shaffer and Artie Conley Shaffer McMillen. Betty worked as a secretary for the Morgantown Glassware Guild and also as a Deputy for the Monongalia County Tax Office. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Shane (Donald) of Athens, TN; sisters, Lorena Shaffer Jones; grandchildren, Alan (Samantha) Shane of Ontario, Elizabeth (Chris) Nally of Texas, Kelly (Jerry) Meldrum of Michigan, Allison (Kevin) Hennessey of West Virginia, and Erin (Adam) Proffit of Washington; great grandchildren, Emma and Kate Hennessey, Carolyn and Ashleigh Meldrum, Elizabeth, Abigayle and Ainsley Proffit, and Emily Nally. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, David “Bud” McKinney; and her daughter, Connie Matthews. Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 3-7 pm and again on Tuesday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Craig Falkenstine officiating.
