Obituary of Ruth N. Kenyon

Ruth Naomi Kenyon, age 91, of Ladson, SC and formerly of Westover, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Morgantown on January 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Ora and Goldie McCrobie Knisell. Ruth worked for the Board of Education for 38 years in the food service department at Westover Elementary School and later at South Jr. High where she retired. She enjoyed drinking coffee and socializing with friends. She was Baptist by faith and locally attended Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and later attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Goosecreek, SC. Ruth is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Connell and husband Ed of Ladson, SC; son, Marty Kenyon of Morgantown; grandchildren David and Billy Sackett; 9 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenyon; son, William “Sonny” Kenyon; an infant daughter, and brothers, Charles Knisell and Howard Knisell. Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 4-8 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service with Pastor Jeff Huggins officiating.
