Douglas Andrew Michael age 70 of Daybrook passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born February 12, 1951 in Fairmont a son of the late Wendell “Andy” Michael and Regina Henderson Michael. Doug had been employed as a coal miner with Blacksville # 1 mine. Doug loved being with and watching his grandchildren playing sports. He loved playing golf, playing cards and was an avid WVU fan. Doug is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Owens (Heath) of Core and Kristina Evans (Jason) of Chambersburg, PA, one son, Steven Michael (Crystal) of Maidsville, one sister Tessie Opyoke (Mike) of Daybrook, and grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Zachary, Lilly, Colby, Benny, Levi, and Alexis; and his very close friend, Norma Henry of Waynesburg, PA. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Fred Eddy II officiating. Burial will follow at Daybrook Cemetery. Per CDC guidelines, masks must be worn, social distancing practiced and limit the visitation to 15 minutes.
