Obituary of Dorothy E. Cutright
Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy Elizabeth (Mayle) Cutright, 78, accepted Heaven’s invitation to come home on April 25, 2021. She was born in Waynesburg, PA on October 29, 1942 the fourth child of the late James Russell and Elizabeth Kish Mayle.
Dorothy retired from Mylan Pharmaceuticals and enjoyed her family, country and gospel music venues, feeding the deer and taking care of her cats: Pretty Girl, Ms. Minnie, Simon, Casper, Ashes, and the brat Tabby. She loved her friend and grand dog, Winchester, who left for heaven before she did. Recently, she said “I miss that big ‘ole dog”.
She leaves behind her daughters Elizabeth (Robert Lackey) Groghan and Geraldine (Richard) McIntyre both of Fairmont, WV, as well as her sons David (Laura Smith) Cutright of Mercer Island, WA, Charles (Siuita Mamatulaeva) Bean of Renton, WA, and Andrew Bean of Morgantown, WV.
Dorothy’s grandchildren were always on her mind and nestled into the furthest reaches of her heart. Jeremy Groghan, David Groghan, Mechelle McIntyre, Nicholas McIntyre, Shayna Cutright, Christina (Lyle) Humphries, Cassandra (Arturo) Gonzalez, Carson (Kayla) Bean, Zachary (Karli) Bean and Sarah (Travis) Mutnansky will all miss her immensely. Her three great grandchildren David, Kerith and Sadie Mae will carry on her wonderful nature and repeat the stories she had to tell.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gerald Cutright. They found each other in midlife after each suffering painful experiences. She loved him greatly and he loved her just as much. Oh, how she missed him. Also leaving for heaven before her was grandson Michael Bragg and great granddaughter Phoenix Rose Bean-Mutnansky.
Our mother was most amazing, raising Charles and Andrew alone for many years before meeting her one great love. She instilled love, kindness, hard work, honesty, and integrity into her kids. Albeit there was a mixture of sass in all of that. Thanks mom. Dorothy never met a stranger, certainly not in the cat food aisle at the store.
She loved God most and never forgot what the grace of His salvation felt like. One of her favorite songs was Leaning on the Everlasting Arms. She is most definitely now resting in His Everlasting Arms.
Her family wishes to thank all her extended family and wonderful friends she leaves here. The last years saw her become less social and retreat to the comfort of her home. Taking your calls and being able to speak to each of you meant so much to her.
Dorothy will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, should you decide, a donation to an animal shelter near you would most certainly make her smile down from above.
