Obituary of Margaret M. Summers

Margaret M. Summers, age 96, of Westover, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019 at her home. Margaret was born June 3, 1923, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late John and Pauline Verderber.

Margaret was a life-long member of the Riverside Community and a member of the Riverside Methodist Church. She was a loving mother who loved cooking for her family. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Ret. USAF Col. Robert L. Summers and wife Linda of Tampa, FL and Jerry A. Summers and wife Antoinette Bossio Summers of Morgantown; one daughter, Debra Benson and husband Jeff of Morgantown; one sister, Delores Mehaulic and husband John of Fairmont; grandchildren, Lauren Nesselroad  and husband Mark, Tyler Benson and wife Alivia, Carley Summers, and Jennifer Gelsinger and husband Michael; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Angelina, Annalise, Logan, Elle, and Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bernard L. Summers, six sisters, and three brothers.

Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 4pm until 8pm and also on Saturday from 10 am until the service at 11 am with Pastor Jim Weber officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest beside her husband at Lawnwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com
