Obituary of Steven D. Johnson

Steven DeLeon Johnson, age 45, of Spotsylvania, VA passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019. Steven was born in Morgantown, on August 27, 1974, a son of Mary Ruth Jones Johnson of Core and the late Ronald Arthur Johnson.

Steven was a construction superintendent and electrician with M.C. Dean and was a United States Army veteran.  Steven’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children and going to his hunting camp to be with friends and family in Mannington.  He was an avid sports fan and was always following the Mountaineers, Steelers and Penguins.

Steven is survived by his wife, Jennifer Renee Sabo Johnson, one daughter, Madison “Maddy” Taylor Johnson, two sons, Hunter Steven Johnson and Logan Cameron Johnson all at home, one sister, Rhonda (Andy) Austin of Core, parents-in-law, Elaine and Charlie Sabo, sisters-in-law, Melissa (Shawn) Tennant and Michelle (Ed) Sherwood, brother-in-law, Chris (Courtney) Sabo, his dog Bentley, and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steven’s memory to your favorite charity.

Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday and on Saturday from noon until the 1:00 pm funeral service with Pastors Jerry Teter and James Freeland officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com.
