Kimberly S. Godbey, 52, of Morgantown, WV, passed peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 4:19am with her loving husband and son, Jon Tyler, at her side.

Kimberly was born on March 5, 1967 in Parkersburg, WV. She was a devoted worker at Burger King, where she had a 25 year career, working her way up from a part time employee to a Manager Trainer.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William D. Porter, II of Morgantown, WV; her loving sister, Melissa D. Godbey of Morgantown, WV; her bonus children, Elizabeth and Christopher Porchiran, Jon T. Porter, Clayton Porter, Noah Porter, and Shane Moore; her granddaughter, Reese Porchiran; her nephew, Ryan Godbey of Uniontown, PA, who always had a place in her heart; her aunt, Linda Hardesty of Walkersville, WV; her parents-in-law, Bill & Betty Porter of Parkersburg, WV, who became Kim’s surrogate parents; brother and sister-in-law, Fred & Lydia Ervin of Parkersburg, WV; as well as her loving dog, Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Romay and Iris Irene Godbey of Parkersburg, WV and Franklin Ellis, also of Parkersburg, WV; her mother, Brenda S. Godbey of Parkersburg, WV; as well as her sister, Sharon Godbey.

Kimmie was a loyal and loving wife, a devoted step mother and dedicated grandmother. Being a sister was one of her most proud titles. She shared a very special bond with Missy, not only as a sister, but as a best friend. She loved to take long car rides with her husband, Bill, and travel to historical sites. She loved the fall and the Christmas seasons because it was a time that everyone could be together. She was most looking forward to the birth of her first Grandson in September.

Kimberly’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care of Morgantown, WV. They would also like to thank the doctors and staff at WVU Hospitals, who worked tirelessly in taking care of her every need. Bill’s work family both at the Mon County DHHR Office and the South Morgantown Lowe’s.

Plans are being developed for a Celebration of Life, in both Parkersburg and Morgantown, and will be announced at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Kidney Foundations; www.Kidney.org
