Obituary of Ellen Ruth Yost
Ellen Ruth Yost, 80, of Daybrook, WV was at home when she took her heavenly flight to her homecoming celebration on November 3, 2017 to be with her Lord. Ellen was born in Fairview, WV on November 16, 1936 to the late Adrian Haught and Lovie Eddy Haught.
Ellen was a homemaker and cared deeply for the needs of her family. She was also passionate about her faith in Jesus, her Savior, and served as a Board Member and Trustee of the Daybrook Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and in her later years when she wasn’t able to travel, she enjoyed working puzzles, and playing games on her computer. Above all of these hobbies, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ellen is survived by her daughters: Kelli D. Wilson and her husband Brian of Daybrook, Lorri Kuhn and her husband Shawn; son Gary Yost and his wife Bobbie, of Daybrook; grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Ellen”: Beau Wilson and his wife Amy, Alex Wilson and his wife Danielle, Abby Wilson and her boyfriend Alex Ewald, Jaron Kuhn, Caden Kuhn, and Darian Kuhn, Joe Knotts, and Brandi Farley; step grandchildren: Alisha Thornton and her husband Tommy and Natalea Shriver; great grandchildren, who stole the heart of the one they called “GG”: Ayden, Elliana, Callista, Wesley, and one on the way; step- great- grandchildren Andreha, Takoa, and Rudd; two sisters-in-law Doris Yost & Cathy Yost; close friends: Sue Chisler, Marylea Hibbs, Regina White and her husband Dave, and Rose Fluharty; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Duane Yost, and her sister Willa Jean Hetrick and her husband John; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joe and Murby Yost sister-in-law Peggy Phillips and her husband Marvin; brothers-in-law Roddie “Dope” Yost and Larry Yost.
Friends are invited to gather at the Daybrook Methodist Church, 2552 Daybrook Rd, Fairview, on Monday, November 6, from 1 -4 pm and 6-8 pm and again on Tuesday, from 10am until the 11 am funeral service with Pastors Fred Eddy II and Steve White officiating. Following the service, Ellen will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Daybrook Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
