Obituary of Bernard D. Pratt

Bernard Dale Pratt, 88, of Hagans Community, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Bernard was born in Hagans on September 12, 1929 to Jesse B. Pratt & Ruby Olive Michael Pratt.

Bernard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked for 25 years for GE and retired as a chemical plant worker.

He joined the Hagans Methodist Church many years ago. When he wasn’t working, Bernard enjoyed bowling, gardening, and most of all farming his land and keeping immaculate pasture fields.

Bernard leaves behind his daughters: Darleta Bogdanich and her husband George of Fairmont; Kathy Gatian and her husband Bill of Morgantown, and Donna Adkins and her husband Rick Adkins of Morgantown; grandchildren William F. Gatian III, Jerrod Dale Adkins, Caitlin Bencic, and Holly Bogdanich; great-grandchildren: Savannah Bencic, Violet Bencic, Valerie Bencic, William Gatian IV, and Anakin Bencic; and one sister Vonda Tennant of Rivesville; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Pratt.

Friends are invited to gather in support of the family on Friday, October 13th from 3-5 & 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 11 am until the funeral service at 12 pm. Following the service, Bernard will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Cemetery next to his wife, Bonnie with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
