Obituary of James H. Saffle, Jr
James Hayward Saffle, Jr., 82, of the Arnettsville Community, passed away from this life of limitations and suffering on September 26, 2017, at Mon Health Medical. Jimmy was born on November 23, 1934, in Rivesville, WV, the son of the late Rev. James Hayward Saffle, Sr. and Ina A. Clutter Saffle.
Jimmy was a life member of Riverside Apostolic Church in Westover. He loved and appreciated the church members, especially the older church families. He had a memory without end and was able to go back several generations remembering church grandparents, parents, and all their children. He truly worried about all the ill and how they were feeling.
The love of his life was his old 1970’s Gravely Tractor. Even when he had a new Sears tractor, he would start the old one and keep it ready to work. Summer or winter, he could be seen out mowing or pushing snow on a daily basis.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Nola Jean Jamison and husband Vernon; niece, Twyla Jo Wolfe and husband Eric; nephew, Randy L. Little and wife Jeanette; great nieces, Terica Springer and husband Clint and Madelynn S. Little; great nephews, Joshua Wolfe and wife Tamara and Nicholas S. Little; and great, great, nephews and niece, Caden, Caleb, and Lily Springer. He was greatly loved by the whole family.
The family wishes to thank Sundale Nursing Home and all their employees for the loving care given to Jim over the past two years and also Morgantown Hospice for their loving care and concern to keep him comfortable the last two days of his life. Also, Mon General Hospital’s staff was so caring and professional during each of his many visits. Our family truly thanks you all.
