Obituary of Phyllis Hiser
Phyllis Imogene Hiser, 80, of Morgantown, WV, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center.
Phyllis was born on March 14, 1937, the daughter of Haidee Toothman of Rivesville, WV and the late Guy Toothman. Phyllis enjoyed a long and successful career as Senior Vice President and Secretary for the Board at First Federal Savings and Loan where she retired after twenty-three years. She was an active member of the Jaycees and served as President of the Jaycee-ettes.
Phyllis was a very loving, caring, and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas Hiser; her loving children, Robert Hiser and wife Melissa of Morgantown and Kathy Ameno and husband Kenneth of Apopka, FL; her precious grandchildren, Trish and Stephen Hiser, Margaret and Alexander Ameno, Marshall Parker and Hailee Hiser; as well as her adorable great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Max, and Emma.
She is also survived by her amazing 100 year old mother, Haidee Toothman; and loving siblings, Richard Toothman and wife Eleanor, Janice Hamrick and husband Cleo, and Judy Mobley and husband Earl; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Lantz and husband Don; brother-in-law, Fred Hiser; and her two precious kitty cats, Luna and Billie.
Memory donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.Diabetes.org in honor of Phyllis’s fifty-six year battle with diabetes.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, from 4-7 pm and on Sunday from 1 pm until the 2 pm funeral service with Rev. Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com
