Linda Dawn Thomas, 73 of Fairmont, WV passed away peacefully on August 4, 2022. She was born in Fairmont, WV to Arthur and Audra (Tomlinson) Wright on March 12, 1949. Linda was a Christian. She loved the Lord. Linda attended Rivesville Baptist Church. When she became too sick to attend, she would look forward to her home visits from Pastor Bill. Her church family was always there for her. At an early age Linda would go do visitations with her neighbors and encourage children of all ages to come to Sunday school. She had a heart to share Jesus with everyone. Linda worked at Fairmont State College for many years as a custodian. When she retired from there, she became an in-home care giver. She loved working and taking care of others. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Diana Talkington and Kimberly Barnes; three brothers, Richard “Dick” Wright, Gary Wright, and Michael Wright; two nephews Dale Talkington and Gale Talkington; and her ex-husband, Marvin Gump, the father of her two children. Linda is survived by two children, Cynthia (Todd) Cole and Mark (Julie) Gump, four grandchildren Evan Cole, Chasity (Michael) Goodwin, Bailey Cole, and Hunter (Mazee) Gump, two great grandchildren Brantley Goodwin and Brynlee Goodwin (and a third great grandson due to arrive in October that she was so excited about), one sister Jessica (Gary) Sedera, one brother Rodger Wright, several nieces and nephews, and her best friend Joan Hullderman. We would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Bill Toothman for always being there for Linda (home visits, to Doctor trips, and to helping her in many other ways). Also thank you to Tiffany Baston (niece) for everything you did for Linda. (The list of things you helped with would be a page of its own. We so appreciate you.) Thank you to Heather Moore (niece) for all the Sunday dinners. (She may not always have ate all the dinners but she sure loved all the desserts.) Thank you to West Virginia Caring Hospice. And last, we would like to thank all our family and friends who have prayed for healing for Linda. Visitation will be held at McCulla Funeral Home in Westover, WV on Sunday, August 7th from 1-3 p.m. and 4-6p.m. then again on Monday August 8th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8th at 11 am with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
